Cara is a superhost and it shows ~ December 2023
First and foremost, Cara is a superhost and it shows – you would be very hard pressed to find a more completely furnished condo at Sugar Beach – the kitchen is completely furnished with everything you could possibly need ( we like to cook when in Maui), bed was super comfy, plenty of linens, sheets and bedding were great, bathroom very clean and functional, the decor was very nice, this unit had a recent remodel – we saw other units that appeared very dated. The grounds around the unit were attended to daily by grounds staff. We were hoping there was more of a view of the ocean at the unit from the patio but we quickly found a much better work around. Make your coffee in the morning and walk out the door 200 feet to the edge of the beach where the grass meets the beach, sit back on a lovely chaise, sip your coffee and enjoy the views and waves. I walked every day down the beach for an hour, Sugar Beach is a nice long beach suitable for long walks, great swimming, body surfing, etc.

Cara’s place was wonderful and looked exactly as described and in the photos. The location is excellent, steps away from the beach where you can take long walks in the morning, and watch the sunset in the evening. Cara communicated very well and was a wonderful host!

First impression when walking in. I felt like I was home. Very cozy. The property is nice. Every morning there are workers cleaning which you know the property is well taken care off and a safe place. I definitely recommend it! I would book again in the future! Thank you Cara!
Great Maui Experience ~ September 2023
My wife and I stayed for six nights in this condo. It was very clean and comfortable. Great proximity to the pool and the beach. That made our stay easy and relaxing. Well equipped for beach and other Maui excursions, there were chairs and a cooler available for guests to use. Centrally located and easy to get to the Harbor, Haleakala, Kihei, and west Maui, (which we avoided because of the fire disaster). It is also close to amenities available right at the resort. Sugar Beach Resort employees were very helpful and pleasant, always helping when we had questions. The condo was stocked well for cooking and entertainment such as DVDs and Books to read at the beach. I would give it more than five stars if I could.

Sugar Beach Resort was wonderful. The condo was well cared for and was steps from the pool and beach. Need a snack? Walk 15 steps to Dina’s sandwich shop! Our 6-year-old daughter made so many friends throughout our stay which made our vacation even more relaxing 🙂 We will be back!
Special location ~ June 2023
My daughter and I were celebrating her 18th birthday and graduation. We selected Sugar Beach Resort because of the location on the island, but couldn’t have known how special it would be to stay this close to the beach. While we didn’t hang out at the resort for much of the day, in order to soak in all of Maui, I found morning beach walks and sunset relaxing in the lounge chairs and starlight meditations under the palms to be nothing short of majestic. The culture of the resort was lovely. It was pristinely manicured, the Sand-Witch shop was run by charming/friendly staff and frequented by both long-term and short-term residents. My daughter and I enjoyed evening soaks in the hot tub getting to know other travelers and Cara’s detailed communication and check-ins as to our comfort were appreciated. I genuinely look forward to coming back and would happily stay here again. Also, I recommend Maui Roasters Coffee and Maui Coffee Attic for delicious island breakfast and coffee! 🙂

Family vacation at Sugar Beach #104 ~ June 2023
This was the perfect situation for me and my family of 4. We had an infant and toddler staying with us, so having a ground-level unit was ideal moving about the property. Plenty of space in the living room for a travel crib and utilizing the pull-out bed, when needed. Definitely recommend and will book this home again on our next trip.

We come to Sugar Beach twice a year and stay in different units. This is by far the best unit we have stayed in. Updated, modern, clean, full amenities, everything you need for the beach/adventures included, 30 ft from the pool. Huge Cali king, great shower, washer and dryer. It’s just perfect. We’d like to just keep coming back to this unit each time!
Perfect Condo in the Most Beautiful Place on Earth ~ July 2022
Cara’s condo was just as described with every possible amenity we might need (beach towels? check; pantry basics? check; supermarket discount card? check). The first floor unit is perfect for quick pool access and the tile floor throughout make it easy to keep it clean. The complex itself is very well kept, the BBQs are a great perk, as is the pool and hot tub. There are many places to gather with friends, but also easy to find a quiet spot. Easy access to a beautiful sandy beach (the water is calmest in the early morning). We are already trying to figure out when we can get to Maui next and will definitely be staying in Cara’s condo when we do!

This is it. Paradise. The literal best. Wonderful saltwater pool, situated on a peaceful private beach,we saw sea turtles and fish while swimming right there. There’s massage and activities office and a little sandwich shop on site. Family friendly, very relaxing. Beautiful condo, and Cara and Sig were super thoughtful and kind hosts…We come to Maui annually, this place is fabulous. It’s a bit of a drive back if you go into Lahaina at night. Overall fantastic.

This condo was superb and Cara is one of the best hosts we’ve had the pleasure of renting from. You can tell that she cares for those staying and she is proud of the unit itself and wants it to be the ideal vacation spot for families. The amenities are really good (pool, hot tub, grilling area) and the location we thought is really good for all the activities on the island. There is even a small restaurant on-site literally next door that actually opens late. Definitely don’t hesitate to book this place.

First time to Maui ~ April 2021
We were Maui first timers and had no idea where to stay so we took a shot in the dark and we super lucked out with this place! Cara’s condo is such a gem. Perfect location because it’s easy access to absolutely everywhere, quick drive to Kihei/Wailea, quick drive to Lahaina, quick access to Costco and target. And if you don’t want to go anywhere, there’s an awesome pool (very kid friendly) and beach front right in front of the condo. The condo is beautifully updated and accommodated our family perfectly. We put a toddler on the pullout couch, baby in a pack n play that Cara provided and us in the main bedroom. There also are two tommy Bahama beach chairs, an umbrella, sand toys, and a few beach towels available. I can’t sing enough praises. We had the most magical time and will definitely be back!

My husband and I had a lovely stay! Communication with Cara was great beforehand and we had no trouble checking into the unit. The unit itself was well-supplied and perfect for two people. It might be a bit tight for 4, but if you’re spending a lot of time out and about it’d likely work perfectly fine. We were on our babymoon and spent a lot of time relaxing to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Right on the beach and convenient to getting around to key areas of Maui. Would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at sugar beach. The place was perfect for our family. Our kids enjoyed sleeping on the pull out couch and we loved the comfy bed. The condo had all the amenities we could need from kitchen supplies to beach gear (cooler, chairs, towels) to TVs. We absolutely loved how close we were to the pool and the beach. Also, there is a sandwich shop right outside of the condo as well as a gear rental place. During our stay Cara went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and comfortable. On the second to last day of our stay, Maui was covered in smoke from a nearby brushfire and unfortunately we had to evacuate. Cara did everything to make sure we had a place to stay, even offering us her own home. We highly recommend sugar beach 104 because it is cute, very well taken care of and clean, close to restaurants AND the owners are caring and hospitable! Thank you again for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

This was our second time staying at sugar beach but our first time in this condo. The location is great – of the property and of the unit itself. The unit is very clean and comfortable, and has just about anything you might need to help you feel right at home. Cara was communicative and helpful, and even left a nice welcome note and some macadamia nut chocolates for us to arrive to – really a nice touch. Overall our trip was lovely, and the unit was a great value for the price we paid. So glad we chose to stay here this time around.

My family loved our time at this condo. The sliding doors open onto a grassy courtyard (wonderful for kids to run and play), steps away from the pool and the sandy beach. It’s a 10 minute walk down the beach to a little cafe, shave ice, farmers market, and a couple shops.
Great condo unit with superb main floor location~ January 2019
We recently rented Cara’s unit for our daughter, her husband and 14 month old daughter. The location on the main floor of the resort was absolutely perfect. They were able to access the grass courtyard outside the unit through their patio doors and our grand daughter had a great time roaming around outside. The koi fish pond is located close by as well. The unit is well equipped and comfortably furnished. There was even a playpen which my daughter used for her daughter to sleep in as well as a booster chair to use at the table for eating. There were beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards available to use. Lots of dishes, glassware and cookware. We enjoyed sharing our dinners with them on the lanai where there was a nice sized table and chairs for 4. We also had many pleasant evenings playing games on the lanai. So nice to be outdoors! We are looking forward to returning to Maui at Christmas 2019 and again renting Cara’s unit. Happy memories spent at Sugar Beach Resort.

Cara has been absolutely awesome! Her professionalism and genuine concern for our trip and safety (Hurricane Lane) was amazing. Even though we’ve been coming to Maui for 19 years and figured we knew everything about it, it was still incredibly sweet of her to advise us about the conditions. Plus,the condo was great. Nice being on the ground floor. 😊 It was so nice not having to deal with the elevator or stairs for grocery runs and loading the car for the outings. The condo had everything we needed, as well. We are a family of 4 (14 yo daughter and 9 yo son). The pool and beach were perfect, and the beach walks to the bakery and or shaved ice were a must. Our son spent many evenings in the pool. The BBQ area was great. The accommodations were good, although the washer and dryer were a bit small. Excellent vacation.

This is a great location. Right in the middle of all towns in Maui. Extremely satisfied with the experience of not staying in a bigger resort as always. Great to be able to relax with less people around. Not to feel hurried, or breathing down someone’s back. The condo was great for two of us, wonderful to have been able to cook whatever meals we wanted. The patio area is great for breakfast. We totally enjoyed the beach (everyday)that was ever so close as well as the clean pool area . A short walk to a store as well as to the farmers market & some great shaved ice. We were 12-15 miles away from most attractions going either way. A car is a must have but free parking was available. We did so much as well as relax in front of a nice tv with Netflix. All the comforts of home. Thank you Cara! We appreciate you sharing this condo.

Sugar Beach Resort is a great complex and unit 104 has everything you need in a comfortable and clean setting. Check in was easy. And the activity center onsite is helpful to rent SUP boards and book shows. We went to see Elvis’ Burn’n Love which is excellent and highly recommended. The ground unit is so nice to have for easy access to the pool and beach and bbq’s. The people staying at Sugar Beach are all really nice and friendly which is always nice to have around the pool. From families to extended stay vacationers. The condo owner was always just an email away, helpful and nice. The unit is well stocked and comfortable. The only nice to have we missed was sunshine in the morning. The unit’s patio faces north west getting afternoon sun on it rather than in the morning. But it’s so easy to walk out the door for long walk on the beach then set up near the beach on sunchairs it all worked out. I highly recommend this accommodation.

This is our third time staying in this unit. It works great for our family. We love how close the pool and beach are to the room. Being on the ground floor is really nice with our kids. They can be outside and we can easily keep an eye on them. The bed is very comfy and the kitchen is stocked with the things you may need. The location on the island makes it very easy to explore many parts of Maui within a short drive. We can’t wait to come back!

Have not been to Sugar Beach since I was a teenager. Wanted to bring both my daughters so they could have the experience and so glad I did! Condo was clean and comfortable and equipped with everything one needed for meal preparations and a day at the beach. Nice having the condo at ground level- quick walk out to the barbeques, pool and beach. Beach is wonderful and provides and easy walk to the ABC store, bakery and shaved ice shop. Nice self-contained complex with lovely grounds. Owners are great and help ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Would definitely come back!

We had a wonderful vacation in Maui. The Sugar Beach Condo #104 was perfect for the two of us. It was very nice and we really enjoyed sitting outside viewing the garden and pool. What a beautiful location and resort for a family vacation. The condo is well equipped with everything you need for cooking and relaxing, and even has some “extras” for those beach excursions. The pool, hot tub, sauna and beach are great for adults and kids. The condo and grounds are spotless and well kept. A very friendly atmosphere while cooking on the barbeques, socializing with other guests and enjoying the many sunsets. It has a nice little store and sandwich shop right on site, and a short walk down the beach to the ABC store and shaved ice!! If you like exploring the location is great and central to traveling to the beaches to the south and west of the island. Thank you Cara and Sig for sharing your condo.
Perfectly located ~ April 2014
The secret of staying on a Hawaiian island is to be perfectly located. Sugar Beach Condo is placed on one of the best walking beaches in Maui and conveniently situated close to all the major towns and resorts (except Hana which is a very scenic drive away). Even the volcano is not that far away. The town of Kihei has all your needs and this condo is only minutes away. As described by the owner the condo has all that you would need and being on the first floor is close to the pool, lawn and beach but still very quiet (except for the soothing sound of the waves).
